NMI: Words on the Wave

Title: Words on the Wave: Ireland and St Gallen in Early Medieval Europe
Client:
National Museum of Ireland
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Timescale: January 2024 - May 2025

This temporary exhibition followed a selection of Irish manuscripts on their historic journey to St Gallen, Switzerland, and told stories of the people who made these extraordinary voyages across Europe in order to preserve and share their knowledge. The exhibition also featured a range of early medieval Irish artefacts, focusing on the styles and techniques used within Irish art at the time.

My input on this project ran from early developed design to the exhibition opening, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of the project process and stages involved along the way.

Working alongside the 3D design director and project manager, I generated much of the technical design package for the project, including GA plans, detailing for exhibition setworks and finishes, plinths and sample schedules. I also worked alongside our graphics team to prepare AV software briefs for all interactives.

I developed the full case dressing package for this project, which involved generating 3D models of all objects and cases, creating and making updates to all case layout drawings, and liaising with the client team, curators and mount makers.
